An architectural animation is a short video presentation showing how a proposed building will look if you walk through the project and look around. The moving images make three-dimensional forms much easier to understand. An animation is generated from a series of hundreds or even thousands of still images, each made in the same way as an architectural visualization. Number of images depend on the total duration of the video. Obviously, cost is also based on that. It is usually used for very big high-priced projects so client can get a real 3D visualization feel.
